Free and fair elections in North Carolina are getting tested to the tune of 60,000 votes! One of those votes could be yours or someone you know.
Multiple recounts determined the votes were cast legally in the race for one of the seats on the North Carolina Supreme Court. Yet Jefferson Griffin, a judge on the North Carolina Court of Appeals, will not concede he lost the contest to incumbent Justice Allison Riggs. The race was incredibly close. Riggs pulled it out by 734 votes, according to recounts.
The back and forth threatens to undermine the integrity of the political process in this state, particularly among the Black electorate and voters between the ages of 18 and 25.
