Dark Waters: Movie Screening and Evening Fellowship
Join us on January 16, 2025, at 6:00 pm for a movie screening and an evening of fellowship about the 2019 film “Dark Waters.” In North Carolina, large corporations have been contaminating our land, air, and water for decades. Forever chemicals and animal waste pollute our environment, resulting in extremely harmful health effects that are damaging our Black communities. The movie ”Dark Waters” highlights a community plagued by serious illnesses and birth defects, and tells the story of a lawyer who courageously led the community to fight against the injustice of big corporations who were poisoning their home environment. Following the movie, we will have a guided conversation about the issues and questions raised in the film, how big corporations have impacted our Black communities, the changes we have seen in recent years, and the actions we can take to make greater change. The movie screening will be held at Word Tabernacle Church in Rocky Mount, NC. There will be refreshments provided.
This is your chance to be part of the conversation and take action for real change. Your voice matters, and together, we can make an impact! See you there!
