Rooted In Wellness Day

Rooted in Wellness Day is a day of collective action, where communities come together across the state to offer local resources that support community well-being and agency, such as heart health screenings, mammograms, immunizations, and information about health insurance. As our communities gain greater access to resources and screenings that support their health and well-being, while receiving education on healthcare issues impacting them locally and statewide, we will see communities that are healthier and more informed about the interconnectedness of democracy and health equity.

Rooted in Wellness reminds us that it is community—where so many of us find our roots of support—that is the core of progress to lead healthier lives for our mind, body, and soul. Join us Saturday, September 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as we bring communities that are not reached by the traditional healthcare system closer to health-promoting resources, access to health screenings, and to connect with local leaders who will directly impact the progress of health equity in their communities through health policies and mutual aid.

Mobile Mammograms

If you are a female over 35 years old and haven’t had a mammogram in the past year, you’re eligible for a free screening at Invision. While ages 35-39 are eligible for a single scan within that period, those 40 and over should get annual mammograms. Please note that some insurance plans may not cover screenings for those under 40. If you’re in this age group, please verify with your insurance provider before scheduling.
