NCBA Launched Statewide GOTV Tour in Greene County

Aug 31, 2022 | Faith-Based Engagement, News, Political Effectiveness

On Saturday, August 27, NC Black Alliance launched its statewide GOTV Tour with a stop in Greene County for a nonpartisan and unbiased candidates forum. Moderated by Rev. Marcus L. Fairley, the tour allowed citizens to hear directly from candidates and express concerns heading into the 2022 midterm elections.

In addition to the candidate’s forum, Rev. Fairley stopped by a back-to-school event at Lenior Community College Barber School & Nail Salon, where they provided kids with backpacks, haircuts, and food. Rev. Fairley addressed the crowd of nearly 100 citizens about the importance of this election and the power of our voice.

Thank you to Ben Lanier, President, Greene County NAACP, Rev. Antonio Blow and St. Mary’s Free Will Baptist Church, and Rev. James Mumford, Lenior County Lead for Advance North Carolina, for their partnership and assistance.

We plan to be in a county near you soon. So stay tuned for other planned GOTV rallies and What’s on the Ballot information sessions before the midterm election on November 8.
