Children's Bill of Rights
All children should have the freedom to pursue their dreams. But some NC politicians are shortchanging Black, rural, and poor communities, preventing our children from learning the skills they need to build the careers and lives of their dreams. In the face of these challenges, we stand with our community and partners to demand changes to how we fund education. These changes respect our children’s rights and ensure every school and educator gets the resources they need to provide every child with a quality education, not just the children of the wealthy few.
Your child has the right to:
- High-quality childcare and early childhood education
- An inclusive and accountable public school
- A safe and healthy learning environment
- An excellent teacher
- A supportive principal
- Ample resources for their school
- Access to mental health services and fair discipline
- Nutritious breakfast and lunch
- Fair testing
- Training for education and work opportunities
