Position: Constituency Program Coordinator (FTE)


The North Carolina Black Alliance (NCBA) is seeking a constituency program coordinator to strengthen its organizational engagement with key constituencies (including Divine Nine (D9) and Faith) and building a programmatic framework for the program beyond election engagement. This role will focus on creating an action plan, alongside our other programmatic staff, to consistently engage these groups through structured programs, fostering productive relationships, and leading statewide efforts to educate and mobilize constituencies in alignment with organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Statewide Programmatic Priorities

  • Develop statewide curriculum that will foster community education and training for Divine 9, Campus/Youth Voters and Faith constituencies
  • Conduct multiple level setting convenings regarding the historical role constituency programs have in our political landscape
  • Co-create issue-based materials alongside broader program team to skill up constituency leaders across the state
  • Work with the Program Director and Policy Director (Advance Carolina) on legislative days of action tailored to constituency groups, as well as consistency policy education efforts

Community Engagement 

  • Conduct reoccurring internal and external listen and learn sessions to develop foundational knowledge of primary issues of NCBA
  • Support the turnout and participation of constituency groups in issue-based community meetings, staff-led training sessions, county table meetings and c3 direct action

Election Cycle & GOTV Coordination

  • Work closely with the organizing director and data coordinator during election cycles to activate D9 and Faith constituencies in structured GOTV activities, endorsement processes, and voter education programs.
  • Ensure accurate data collection and field verification of constituent programs to support informed decision-making.

Regional Coordination & Relationship Building

  • Conduct routine communication and draft plans to support regional coordinators and county organizers in building productive relationships with constituency groups in their regions and counties.

Mobilization

  • Support the turnout and participation of constituency groups in direct actions, meetings, and broader organizing efforts.

General

Team Management 

  • This role will be responsible for managing our campus/ Youth Voter Engagement program associates, Faith associate, and Divine 9 associate.

Collaboration & Support

  • This role will be responsible for collaborating with other departments and team members to align constituency efforts with organizational priorities and ensure consistency in program execution.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Proficient knowledge of Voter Database Management tools, like Voter Access Network (VAN) and Relational Voter Project (RVP) databases
  • Prior knowledge or willingness/ability to learn how to utilize organizational management tools like Zoom, Google Meet, Basecamp etc.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills are required
  • Ability to work within a team structure
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required
  • Experience working in political organizations with elected officials
  • Ideal candidate should reside in North Carolina

Salary

  • $60,000 – $65,000 per year
